Wine

Having personality means unique in the wine ..., as in people

Written by CinziaTosini

Often beat on this button, and I repeat,  because I believe that the experience of those who "make wine",  is crucial because the vine, il clima, and the territory. All factors contained in the "typicality of a product”, that harmonious combination of elements that man with wisdom and skill allows you to better express.

“Typicality of the wine: expression of the experience of man applied to the vine, the territory, e al clima”

Climate that is changing alas ... I have extensively discussed with Claudio Faccoli visiting the 'Farm Lorenzo Faccoli in Franciacorta.  Claudio told me how important it is for him, una volta imparata l’arte, "If you do" the most possible. Some, a guide to the need is always welcome, but it should not override the philosophy of the producer.

The wine must have personality ...

Lorenzo Faccoli

Claudio, his wife Stefania, and his brother Gian Mario, carry the company founded in 1964 by his father Lorenzo Faccoli. A discreet man, a farmer who has devoted his life to the family and viticulture. About 5 hectares of terraced vineyard at times in the clay soil of Mount Orphan, the oldest of Franciacorta.

Now, the word Claudio Faccoli ...

  • Claudio, I agree with you that the wine is the result of experience and thought of those who produce. You're still young and your road is still long, but you are immersed in this world since childhood. What do you transmit your experience and your experience in the wine you produce with your brother Gian Mario?

What we are trying to convey in our work is the simplicity in the processing of wine to be as respectful of its naturalness;  a wine that must identify with the land from which it arises, and with the climate of the seasons, and for this, must be every single year, expression Vintage.

  • Terra di Franciacorta, land dedicated to viticulture that I could appreciate during my visit. Me briefly tell?

La Franciacorta è terra bresciana, home to large employers, who were able to discover the wine treasure hidden potential in this land, and instead of appropriating,  they shared with all potential actors, old and new,  elevating it so together,  a product of excellence.

  • One of the problems in Italy is to "system". Not always sure, but mostly it is a chant that I often feel again ... What is the reality in Franciacorta in this regard?

Cynthia, I think the success of Franciacorta is due mainly to the fact that until now the producers have done really system, giving up personal interests and positions in the interest of the growth of all those who are part of this territory.

  • What would you recommend to a young person who wants to bring to this sector?

I would say it can have great satisfaction if you approach it with immense desire to learn and passion for the job, where the biggest reward is not Economic initially,  but to be part of creating a unique product every year, to be such that essentially requires of its commitment.

  • In Italy there are many small producers,  You are too. Despite the opinion of some experts, I believe that small and large wineries have to coexist because both are necessary. Change only the approach that the consumer towards one or the other reality. What do you think?

From my point of view, the vocation of a territory is recognized when developing a variety of production companies, the most varied. Large companies are our testimonial that give great visibility and identity to the product;  small businesses have a role to engage people who need to develop a more direct relationship with the manufacturer and the product.

  • It 'a difficult time for the sector. What do you think will make the institution immediately to help manufacturers in a concrete way?

Given the scarcity of resources, what we ask the institutions is to try to alleviate the bureaucratic burden that weighs more and more small businesses and secondly to defend at international level the uniqueness of our products…

Human work in conjunction with the vine, the climate and the soil is the basis for the modern definition of terroir as well say Cinzia… Today much of the quality of a wine you can assimilate to its originality and who produces it becomes interpreter of his product and the terroir in which it produces!
